Walls were ridiculously thin though and I was woken by someone playing the cello at 1: Certainly not the hotel's fault - and they did stop them from playing once I called the front desk to complain. Beware of the location - it's a bit of drive from downtown.
I travel for work and typically stay at Hilton properties and most of the time I stay at Hampton Inns. I usually find a clean hotel that is centrally located for my appointments.
Hampton Inn, Eugene delivered on both of these and was also very quiet which is a plus. One important factor in my choosing hotels is the gym onsite. This property's gym is very small. One treadmill, one elliptical, and one stationary bike.
It also had a dumbbell rack with dumbbells up to 50lbs. That's great but they had no bench to really utilize the weights with any real purpose. The reason they had no bench is that they simply don't have enough space for it. If you look at my picture, the area with the dumbbells is literally 2. I used the exercise ball pictured as a bench.
Even if you were creative you still don't have enough space to use the weights properly to begin with. I also used the elliptical which functioned well. They need a better gym to keep up with other properties bearing their name.
The staff was pleasant with one exception. After a morning workout I went down late to grab some breakfast. I grabbed a plate and then stood behind an employee who proceeded to take the last of the scrambled eggs. Breakfast closed shortly after and no more eggs were made. I also had to iron a white dress shirt and there was so much dust on the ironing board that it got my shirt very dirty.
Hopefully this property upgrades their gym and more to keep up with the competition. If I could give them a negative I would. I tried to book a room for the night as I had to leave my home due to a violato situation and needed to get my girls out of the home for the night. I'm an upstanding, clean have plenty of money person and I was denied a room due to the meer fact I was a Eugene resident.
What kind of business is this!!!! I needed to place to be safe and get my girls out and was denied!! I'm so upset over this.
I would recommend no one due business with them. They have no desire to be part of our community and help there own I guess even when they are really good people!!! My go to when I travel is something within the Hilton family of offerings. This happens to fit that bill as well as being one of the closest hotels you can get to the Airport in Eugene. Trust me that was a huge reason for making this booking This hotel fit the purpose of what I was after, close to the airport.
Their location is on an extremely busy street that doesn't offer much in the way of dining or shopping. There is a lot of construction in the area and it just isn't the best location. The staff was friendly and helpful, but they hadn't processed any of the paperwork that my company had forwarded so that the room would be prepaid.
There are numerous golf courses within 30 minutes drive. At the more stylish Sofitel sofitel.
So I had to pay and then work that out when I got back to the office. As long as I didn't have any extremely early am flight I would probably opt for a different location the next time I'm in town. This is so convenient for us. They need to staff the front desk a little better on the weekends and around checkout time. We booked this hotel, because it was close to a trn.
We had 7 rooms booked. When we arrived we were notified that the pool was closed.
See All Reviews Price from: In reality the walk involves negotiating a long flight of stairs to get over the railway line — see photo.
Which was part of the reason we wanted to stay there. She was gracious and wonderful! This place is beautiful. From the moment you step into the lobby, you feel the perfection. The first thing my wife said when she walked in, was "the room is gorgeous. The person that checked up in was also friendly. I think the people who have this place bad reviews must have hidden agendas. Check out the pictures and decide for yourselves.
We booked 5 rooms here.
Everyone of us had such a great experience. We were here for graduation so everything was quite busy and full. But the hotel accommodated every need. The breakfast in the morning was the best we have ever experienced for a quick stay hotel!!
But the best part was the staff. Every staff member we came in contact with were friendly and went beyond our expectations. Someone is managing the property properly and it show in every way!! I'm a Hilton and Hampton supporter, but this location is just not a good place to stay.
The walls are paper thin, so you can hear and smell everything your neighbor is saying or smoking yes, marijuana is legal in OR. The Wi-Fi didn't always work and the tweekers that were yelling on the walking path behind the hotel was a bit unnerving as well. Large rooms with extra seating was nice.
Loved the free hot breakfast in the morning before I checked out. When I visit a city that I'm not familiar with, I like to book a hotel that I am. So Hampton Inn is usually quite predictable. This hotel was fine.
Clean room, decent size. Location is pretty awful. Busy street with loads of construction and nothing around as far as shops, restaurants, etc The people in the room above us sounded like they were jumping up and down for hours and this went on from 10pm until midnight. We called down to the front desk, but nothing was done. We couldn't wait to leave. Here you will find a clean room, a comfy bed, an in-room mini fridge and microwave, and complimentary hot breakfast. The basics of a Hilton Family Hampton Inn.
This particular location in Eugene, OR was not bad, but not the best either. The hotel ambiance was way better than a motel, but don't expect a fancy hotel either.
For one thing, the location was not very convenient to Downtown Eugene, the University of Oregon, and other highlighted destinations in the city, which were about minutes away. Closer to the hotel, there were mainly fast food eateries and chain family restaurants that were not very enticing. The area seemed far off from the better part of town, too. Customer service was friendly and accommodating.
I was able to check-in early, I was able to get forks and spoons for take-out meals from the front desk, and the front desk staff always said hello when I passed by. Recommended for business travelers. Came in and the hotel didn't have the cot they had promised.
I am traveling with my four children. So one of us is sleeping on the floor. And the assistant manager didn't seem to care.
Cant recommend this hotel.
If you don't have to deal with a manager trying to charge you extra fee's you should have a decent stay. Not only was the M. Jessica, entirely rude but tried and get extra money from her. Because she called in the week prior to ask if they could change it. So they got her on a technicality. So I stepped in and waited on hold with hotels. Only stayed one night, won't be back. Good luck if you need to stay here.
So when I went online and saw all of the bad reviews my first thought was "oh crap".
